OBL: An Intuitive Guide

An explanation of OBL from a user's perspective.


OBL Faces

Single square Faces with mnemonics (images and/or descriptions) for memorization. Each OBL Case consists of two (not necessarily distinct) Faces, one on the top and one on the bottom.

An OBL Face's Type is just a count of the number of edges and corners which are the same color. When these counts are different for white and yellow (as they often are), we take the smaller numbers.

Only Faces of the same Type can appear opposite one another and form a Case, which is why we group them this way.
